The Shelley Theatre is a lovely 150 seat capacity with very comfortable seating. It is
proving to be an ideal venue for Bournemouth Folk Club's major folk concerts. Moving to the Shelley in 2016, we have enjoyed concerts by Martin Simpson, While & Matthews, Philip Henry & Hannah Martin, Martyn Joseph, Jim Moray, Steve Knightley, Ninebarrow and Phil Beer. All these concerts have been well attended with three sellouts and an average audience of 130.
The Shelley Theatre is perfect for our folk music concerts
Now, with the addition of the informal stage in the Mulberry Room, it's also
a good venue for a small festival.
The festival music runs from 2pm to 10.30pm. The programme will alternate between concerts in the Theatre proper and more informal music in the new Mulberry Room.
The venue address is Beechwood Drive, Bournemouth BH5 1LX
Free parking:- Shelley Theatre has its own carpark BH5 1LX.
This is a 19th century theatre which has been beautifully restored, which was once the home of Mary Shelley, author of Frankenstein.
